Children are remarkably imaginative and resilient — but also heartbreakingly fragile and vulnerable. In addition to orphans AMOO will work with communities to shelter and nurture children through innovative education, health and nutrition programs. Teaching the next generation and keeping them healthy are essential to tomorrow’s strong, vibrant societies.
The program seeks to equip the homeless kids and orphans with basic education and skills that will enable them to become productive citizens in the following areas and more:
Reading & writing
Computer skills
Carpentry
Handcrafts
Auto mechanics
Masonry
Farming
Tailoring
Electrical mechanics
Youth have a bigger stake in the future. AMOO is helping mobilize youth in Uganda and DRC to influence a better tomorrow, while also offering education and job training to impoverished youth to give them a place in the changing global economy. However, though education is the foundation of progress, it is often interrupted by extreme poverty, war and other crises. As a result, individuals and their communities often can’t reach their full potential. AMOO will work to bring access to education to kids and ensure a better future for them and to make sure that the orphans under our care will be employable by the time they leave our institutions.
